ABOUT STEPHEN CARRINGTON
The FREE Project
Stephen Carrington is a survivor of wrongful conviction, a researcher of police misconduct patterns, and the founder of The FREE Project — a national initiative documenting corrupt practices, uncovering overlooked evidence, and connecting survivors with media, attorneys, and investigative allies.
After spending years fighting to clear his name, Stephen now uses his experience to help others navigate a system designed to silence them. His mission is simple: expose the patterns, find the victims, and bring truth to the surface.

Stephen's Mission
Expose the patterns.
Document the truth.
Protect the survivors.
Hold the system accountable.
Stephen’s mission is to uncover misconduct that has been ignored, buried, or mislabeled. He focuses on identifying repeated behaviors across officers, units, and precincts, locating victims who were impacted, and bringing hidden evidence back into the light.
He works to support individuals navigating wrongful convictions, connects survivors with media and legal allies, and builds a centralized record of cases that reveal national patterns of abuse.
